Chamber Announces New Board of Directors Following Annual General Meeting 
Softball City – 2201 148 St, Surrey, BC V4A 9P5 – Thursday, June 29th, 2023 
 
The South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Softball City. Attendees reviewed a successful 2022 that reflected an increase in overall website and social media activity; an overview of Chamber & community events; a comprehensive report of the Let’s Get Local program; and an outlook of 2023 and beyond. In 2022, the Chamber brought in 75 new members, and is on track this year to match or exceed new membership with a whopping 64 new members in Q1 and Q2 thus far. 
 
Following the Annual General Meeting, the Chamber is proud to announce the new Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 term:

The event being hosted at Softball City highlighted the importance of local sports facilities in our region. With the 2023 Canada Cup International Softball Championship scheduled to take place here from July 7 to 16, 2023, the Chamber was ecstatic to partner with Greg Timm and his team at the Canadian Amateur Sport Society (CASS) on the AGM. As announced by Timm, the Canada Cup will host 106 teams and thousands of visitors to the region. He also shared a heartfelt note of gratitude to all who supported the Ukrainian team’s participation in the tournament. 
 
The Chamber also invited Sean Peach, Acting President of the Peninsula Community Foundation, to speak about the upcoming Annual Legacy Softball Classic. The tournament aims to fundraise for endowments and promote awareness for local charities. Held on September 10th of this year, an expected 250+ players around the South Surrey & White Rock region will come together and raise funds to better the community. 
 
After the formal presentation of the AGM, attendees got to enjoy a robust charcuterie board, donated by Sheila’s Catering Co., as a little taste of Charcuterie on the Pier – an epic gastronomic event that will attempt to officially break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Charcuterie Board on September 2, 2023. The pitcher and catcher from the White Rock Renegades were also out on the diamond to bat some balls with AGM goers. 
 
Congratulations to the new Board of Directors! The Chamber is looking forward to continuing the work in supporting, advocating for, and promoting businesses in South Surrey & White Rock during the upcoming term and beyond.
