    After 20 year as a realtor Jan’s family talked her into going to culinary school.  She apprenticed under Chef John Garrett at Horizons and completed her Red Seal certification in 2010.  She started her catering business Jan’s Gourmet.  As the catering business grew she started looking for a small restaurant.  She found her spot on Marine Drive in White Rock and fell in love with the location.  Six years have flown by since she opened Jan’s on the Beach.  She’s been so lucky to be able to do what she loves and to follow her dreams and passion.

In 2012, Darrell was promoted to company President. Darrell enthusiastically leads an increasingly diverse team of nearly 18,000 people known for innovation, customer service and industry leadership in more than 150 Western Canadian communities. He was awarded the 2017 Golden Pencil Award – the highest distinction in the industry –by the Food Industry Association. Darrell channels his passion for the food business into active participation on numerous industry boards.
