Champion of the Crescent - Stand Up Paddle Board in Support of Youth Mental Health
Surrey Hospitals Foundation is very excited to be back hosting events for 2022! The first of which is Champion of the Crescent – Stand Up Paddle Board in support of youth mental health.
The relay is taking place on July 23 at Blackie Spit Park and the Foundation is looking to fill 40-60 team spots (4 paddlers - $2500 a team) with all proceeds going to support youth mental health programs offered by Surrey Memorial Hospital. Swag bag, board rental and a complimentary team paddling lesson from Sea Gods is included in that cost.
Surrey Memorial Hospital is the regional center for youth experiencing mental health challenges or those who are entrenched in a mental health crisis. Children and teens from all over the Fraser Health Region come to Surrey Memorial Hospital to receive care and Surrey is proud to offer the only Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Stabilization Unit (CAPSU) that is designed specifically to meet the needs of youth in distress. As we move out of COVID, it is more important than ever that we highlight and support these very important services.
